Hi from Madeira
Hi! We are a group of students from the school Básica e Secundária Gonçalves Zarco from Madeira, Portugal. We’re here to answer and ask some questions about you, your school and your country. Our names are Cláudia (from Venezuela), Lina and Patrícia (from Madeira) and we are all 13 years old.
About your questions, here are our answers:
Now, 3 weeks after the catastrophe, the streets on Madeira are much better but the people are a little sad about the destruction that the calamity caused, because they lost their jobs, houses, some relatives and material things.
In our English class there are more 21 students without the three of us.
The weather is better but there are some days that rains, we’re not worried about it because, it isn’t raining like in that day (20/02/2010).
We, as people, didn’t receive any help, because we didn’t need it. Madeira received a lot of help from Portugal, Spain, the rest of Europe and others countries.
Yes our lives are coming back to normal.
We lost 1 week of classes (IUPIIII J).
We aren’t Scouts. But some of them helped the people in need.
In Cláudia’s free times she prefers to go shopping and go out with her friends, in Lina’s case she likes to sleep, eat and watch TV (like Garfield) and Patrícia likes to draw, listen to music and go out with friends too.
If you come to Madeira the best places to visit are: the Botanical Garden, the Laurissilva Forest, some Monuments like The Theatre Bartolomeu Dias, Sé Cathedral, Lavradores Market and others.
We’ve got some questions for you:
What’s the name of your school? Is it a language school or a regular one?
What can we visit in Seville? And what are the most famous monuments there?
How is the weather in Spain?
What’re your favourite subjects?
How many times you’ve got holidays and for how long?
